TopRank client SmartKit

Client Case Study: Smart-kit

Situation: Smart-kit.com is a website dedicated to providing readers with intriguing content, puzzles and games that engage and exercise the brain.  Founded by a board-certified neurologist, Smart-kit's goal is to help its readers have fun while exercising their brains.

Smart-kit came to TopRank looking to increase the number of people visiting the website.  In addition, Smart-kit wanted to create an identify that encouraged the visitors not only to come to the site, but to stay and interact with additional content.

Solution: TopRank's first step, working with Smart-kit, was to help create a search engine friendly website by implementing search engine best practices both technically and in regards to content.

Just a few of the content updates we implemented include:

  • keyword optimized title tags, meta descriptions and copy
  • keyword optimized headlines
  • keyword optimized categories

In addition, since the website runs on blog software we educated – and continue to educate – the client on blogging best practices to ensure each post is seen by as many people as possible.

In order to encouraged repeat visitors and lengthier stays on the website, we created a new site design for Smart-kit that sung to its true focus of providing the audience with new and entertaining online puzzles.

In addition, the puzzle bar at the top connects visitors with the most popular puzzles. The small images attract visitors to additional puzzles, that they otherwise may have found while visiting the website.

In addition, TopRank performs social media marketing on behalf of Smart-kit helping drive traffic from sites like StumbleUpon, Facebook and many more.

Results: Since starting work with Smart-kit in June of 2006, unique visitors have grown from 2,000 to over 90,000 unique visitors in December 2007.

As well, page views have increased from 4,788 to 183,189.


 

Client Case Study: Ecumen

Situation:

EcumenEcumen, one of the country's largest non-profit senior housing companies, is enriching the lives of its customers by creating a home for senior adults wherever they choose to live. With highly competitive keywords such as senior housing, before engaging TopRank for SEO services, Ecumen was struggling to be found among its competitors within the search engine results. Additionally, Ecumen wanted to change the way the industry thought about aging by promoting keyword messaging that shifted focus from building nursing homes to senior adult communities.

Ecumen engaged TopRank to help increase search engine visibility with its target market and to increase inquires for senior housing development.

Solution:

To improve search engine and general online visibility of Ecumen.org, TopRank implemented the following search engine optimization (SEO) and online marketing tactics:

In addition to SEO tactics deployed, TopRank advised Ecumen in the launch of the Changing Aging Blog, which has enabled Ecumen to connect to its target audience through a more conversational channel. The blog provides a place for discussion, opinion sharing, and innovations to influence the industry and older adults' opinions about aging.

Results:

As a result of the TopRank's optimization and online marketing efforts, Ecumen's keyword rankings have increased substantially, resulting in an increase of traffic to both the web site and blog by 136% since April 2007.

Within the first year of launching the Changing Aging Blog, the blog averages over 1,500 unique visits per month with over 32 keyword rankings in the top 10 results of search engines, such as Google.

Organic search, combined with a pay-per-click program has helped to drive considerable traffic and inquires month over month for competitive keyword phrases. TopRank has helped Ecumen increase monthly inquiries for senior housing development by 25%.
